How can I fix my CDs that have skips on them? I have tried boiling water, soap, windex, toothpaste, and skip repair solutions. What else should I try?

My neighbor actually flushed his in the toilet..
Yeah it sounds crazy but it worked.

As long as you don’t mind that the DVD may not work at all after trying it, try finding a smooth, soft surface like a cotton sheet, and gently but firmly "buff" the DVD on it in circular motions. This worked for Playstation games that were skipping…may be worth a try on a DVD.

They play like new again. I actually used several surfaces…a low pile rug and our sofa. And, was careful to buff just a bit, try the game, buff some more, if needed. (I think the deeper scratches took several buffings on different surfaces). Be sure to wipe off any lint before putting in the DVD player.

DO NOT use paper towels, window cleaner, alcohol, ammonia or anything that could breakdown the plastic of the DVD. Read the article below:
